However, just as they were nearing their destination, the hyperdrive malfunctioned, and the crew found themselves trapped at the far edge of the universe. To return home, the crew must achieve the impossible.  

The vast expanses of space conceal countless worlds, but only one of them is home. The return journey won't be easy, but it's worth trying. As the leader of a team of pioneers, the player will need to build diplomatic relationships with amazing extraterrestrial races or engage in conflict with them. Developing archaeology to search for necessary resources will be essential, as the ship will require repairs.

Any decision made will inevitably impact the fate of the crew and influence the ever-changing universe. In The Long Journey Home, everything is in constant motion due to procedural generation of the environment, so you cannot remain stationary!
