Total War: WARHAMMER II is a strategy game of truly grand scale. You will choose one of four unique races and embark on an epic war to save or destroy a vast and vibrant fantasy world.

The game consists of two main parts - a turn-based strategy campaign in an open world and tactical real-time battles amidst the fantastical landscapes of the New World.

You will delve into the intricacies of global politics in a meticulously crafted campaign and enjoy endless variety in online battles, assembling your own army from your favorite units. No matter your preferences, Total War: WARHAMMER II will provide you with hundreds of hours of engaging gameplay.

Engage in politics, diplomacy, research, and warfare in turn-based mode. Capture, build, and develop cities to hire and maintain vast armies. Train and equip renowned Lords and Heroes. Negotiate with potential allies and declare wars on those who stand in your way.

Command vast armies in intense tactical battles. Send fiery dragons and other bloodthirsty beasts into battle, cast incredibly powerful spells, employ time-honored tactical maneuvers, or overwhelm the enemy with numbers - the method doesn't matter; only victory does.

Total War: WARHAMMER II is the second part of a trilogy that began with the iconic game Total War: WARHAMMER. Players can expect a new thrilling campaign, "The Great Vortex," set on the massive continents of Lustria, Ulthuan, Naggaroth, and the Southlands. As the plot progresses, the action becomes increasingly tense, culminating in an epic finale unlike anything seen in the Total War series.

The player will take on the role of one of eight legendary lords leading four iconic races of the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world. To stabilize or ultimately destroy the Great Vortex, they will need to perform a series of magical rituals and thwart all attempts by rivals to do the same.

Each legendary lord has unique starting positions, and each of the four races has its own playstyle, campaign mechanics, storyline, military traditions, armies, monsters, schools of magic, and legendary characters.

Shortly after release, all users who own both the base game and Total War WARHAMMER II will gain access to a third colossal-scale campaign. On a shared map that combines the territories of the Old and New Worlds, players will be able to lead any of the races available in both games to victory.

All races in Total War WARHAMMER II will be available in both single-player and multiplayer campaigns, as well as in their own and online battles. Since each race has 2 legendary lords with unique starting positions, you can play the campaign together with a friend, playing as the same race. If you own both games in the series, all races included in them will be available in multiplayer.

Millennia ago, fending off the Chaos invasion, the great mages of the High Elves created a vast magical vortex. By their design, it was meant to draw the Winds of Magic away from this world and force the hordes of demons back into the Realm of Chaos. Now, the Great Vortex is losing stability. The world is once again threatened with destruction.

Powerful forces are already preparing to take measures to save the planet from catastrophe. But there are those who want to harness the energy of the dying vortex for their nefarious purposes. A race has begun, and the winner will claim the world.

Prince Tyrion, Defender of Ulthuan, rules over the High Elves who are desperately trying to stabilize the Great Vortex raging over their continent.

The Slann Mage-Priest Mazdamundi, seated upon his palanquin throne, sends his armies of Lizardmen north from Lustria. He too seeks to prevent the cataclysm, but the plans of the Ancients are more important to him.

The Sorcerer King Malekith commands his brutal armies of Dark Elves to leave Naggaroth and the ominous Black Arks. He senses the weakness of the vortex and wants to exploit it to the fullest.

The Skaven, led by Queek Headtaker, lie in wait. From their overcrowded underground cities, they covet the riches of the surface. Their intentions are still unknown, but soon the entire world will learn of them...

Four races, four paths, one goal: to bend the Great Vortex to their will in the name of good or evil.
